Today's Beauty Sneha


Suhasini "Sneha" Rajaram (Tamil: சுகாசினி "சினேகா" ராஜாராம்; born 12 October 1981) is an Indian film actress. She has acted in several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada language films. She debuted in the 2001 Malayalam film Ingane Oru Nilapakshi, directed by Fazil. Her first commercial success was in her Tamil film Aanandham, which was the second film in her career.

Sneha has won one Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Unnai Ninaithu (2002) and has been nominated twice for a Filmfare Best Actress Award. She has also received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress twice for her performances in the films Virumbugiren, Aanandham, Punnagai Desam (2001) and Pirivom Santhippom (2008). She also received her Nandi Award in the year 2005 for her performance in the movie Radha Gopalam and Kalaimamani Award from the State of Tamil Nadu in the year 2006.

Early Life:

Born to Rajaram and Padmavathy Rajaram, in Mumbai, Maharastra as Suhasini Rajaram to a Telugu Family and later she was brought up in Dubai. She completed her schooling in Dubai. Though her mother hails from Rajamundry, Andhra Pradesh, they got settled in Panruti, Tamil Nadu. She has a sister Sangeetha and two brothers. Her sister is a Fashion Designer, got married and have a son named Nithin.

Career:

Sneha, began her film career in the 2001 Malayalam film Ingane Oru Nilapakshi in a supporting role, however her major breakthrough came later that year in a Tamil language film, Ennavale opposite Madhavan. Later that year, she starred in the film, Aanandham as well as K. Balachandar's, Parthale Paravasam. She finished the year with a foray into Telugu cinema, making two appearances in notable films. Priyamaina Neeku was her first film in Telugu. It went on to be a block buster.

A total of 8 films, were released in 2002 including her second major hit in Telugu with Hanuman Junction as well as other hits in Unnai Ninaithu and April Madhathil. Prestigious films with top actors also followed, such as King and Pammal K. Sambandam with Vikram and Kamal Haasan respectively. After a successful previous year, Sneha acted in only two films in 2003. The first being Vaseegara with Vijay, the second being a heroine-oriented double role in Parthiban Kanavu. The film became a commercial hit as well as winning plaudits for Sneha's portrayal of the double role.

The year 2004 was a mixed year for the actress, with Jana, Bose, Venky and Adhu, a horror film, all failing at the box-office. However, Vasool Raja MBBS opposite Kamal Haasan became a blockbuster, while Autograph was a box-office hit which won critical acclaim.

The year 2005 and 2006 was a good year for the actress, with Sankranthi with Venkatesh, Radha Gopalam with Srikanth, Sri Ramadasu with Nagarjuna, Thuruppu Gulan with Mammootty and Pudhupettai with Dhanush winning plaudits at box office, while others released in the respective years turning as average grossers at the box office. With Thuruppu Gulan she paired with the Malayalam Super Star Mammootty. In the year 2006, she made her debut into Kannada film industry through Ravi Shastri. With that she covered all the South Indian languages.

The year 2007 was a successful year for the actress with all her releases turning out to be block busters. She had Madhumasam, Naan Avanillai, Pallikoodam and Maharadhi turning out to be super hits.

In the year 2008, Sneha won many plaudits for her performance through her Heroine-Oriented film Pirivom Santhippom with Cheran. She paired with Silambarasan in the movie Silambattam which gave her a commercial success and with a Cameo appearance in the movie Kuselan with Super Star Rajini Kanth, she completed 50 Films within a short span and also got a chance to share her screen space with Super Star. She tried a glamorous role with Pandi and Inba, while both turning out to be average grossers. Her Telugu films Nee Sukhame Ne Korukunna and Pandurangadu turned out to be average grossers while Adivishnu flopped at the box office.

The year 2009 was totally different for the actress with the Social Thriller film Achchamundu Achchamundu with the Hollywood star John Shea appearing in a villainous role with Prasanna as her pair. Then she had Amaravathi, again a Thriller film of different Genre. Both won many plaudits for the bold theme of Pedophiles and Womb stealing respectively. The former film won many awards in the International Panorama.

In 2010, with Venkat Prabhu's Goa, she again forayed into Glamorous Ultra-Modern chick role with a few Grey shades. Then she shared her screen space for the first time with Vishal through a Cameo appearance in the movie Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai. Her next release was Pramani with the Malayalam Super Star Mammootty, which had a big opening at the box office with good reviews of critic. She appeared in a Cameo role as herself in the movie Angadi Theru, directed by the renowned director Vasantha Balan of Veyil fame and the movie opened to stupendous reviews and response. She has continuous films with Mammootty lined up for the release in this year Vande Mataram and Pokkiri Raja. The most awaited Bhavani IPS is also gearing up for the release, where she appears as a tough Police Officer.

She also appeared in so many commercial ads like Saravana Stores, Roobini Oil, Aashirvadh, Idhayam Dots, Joy Aalukkas etc. She owns a Marriage Hall in Panruti.
